KRTS First to Certify Instructors for Avatar Fleet Program

There is a new Defensive Driving Certification Course in North America and some of the Instructors at KRTS Transportation Specialists Inc. are the first to complete the Train the Trainer Program.
Once certified, Avatar Fleet LLLC Defensive Driving Instructors can demonstrate and understand several subjects including:

~ The A-Fleet Course
~ LLLC Defensive Driving
~ Coaching the Adult Leaner
~ Behind the Wheel Evaluation Procedures

LLLC stands for Look Ahead, Look Around, Leave Room, Communicate.

The new trainers on behalf of KRTS will be able to offer the Train the Trainer Certification Course to companies and individuals who want to offer the Avatar Fleet Defensive Driving Course to their company drivers.

Matt Richardson, Sales and Operations Manager of KRTS is pleased and excited for the new partnership with Avatar Fleet and commented “this is a great opportunity to further develop some of our instructors, as well as bring a new certification for defensive driving to our current carrier and private fleet customers. Once certification is completed, our instructors will be able to deliver LLLC certification anywhere in North America.”

The LLLC Instructor Certification Program is being billed as the most advanced professional defensive driving system in the world. The process to help a safe truck driver become a certified instructor has five steps: attract new instructors, select and promote them, prepare them, certify them, recognize them.

Applicants must apply for the program and meet the minimum criteria which includes experience, safety records and other key factors to attend the course. Meeting the requirements must be recognized by a company supervisor or industry expert to qualify. There are 18 on line units that must be completed prior to attending the in class portion. The in class portion is then followed by in vehicle instruction in a group setting. Mark G. Gardner, CEO of Avatar Management Services Inc., was at the Caledonia offices to certify the first group of Instructors, he said “We’re pleased to be associated with such a polished and professional firm. Together we can make the world a safer place.”

Gardner started in the trucking industry in 1974 as a dock supervisor in Cleveland Ohio. He worked his way up through the industry to become the Vice President of Safety and Risk for Ryder P*I*E*. He joined Progressive Casualty Insurance Company in 1987 and, together with the ATA (American Trucking Association), AAA (American Automobile Trucking Association) and 3M, created the national campaign “Share the Road with Trucks”.

Avatar Fleet was started by Gardner on January 1st 2015 with a mission to keep trucks full of safe drivers. “Avatar Fleet chose KRTS Transportation Specialists Inc. out of several other firms due to its professionalism and commitment to outcome based training” commented Gardner.

KRTS will be running a pilot course with selected carriers to showcase the program and gain valuable feedback. For more information about Avatar Fleet contact KRTS at 1-800-771-8171 or visit us online at www.krway.com.
