Industry News,Uncategorized | September 12, 2017 The Truckload Carriers Association has opened up nominations for its annual Best Fleets to Drive For survey and contest. The nomination period runs from Sept. 2 through Oct. 31. The survey is an evaluation of the best employers in the trucking industry, and focuses on things such as compensation, safety, benefits, equipment and training. The survey is open to all for-hire trucking companies operating in the U.S. or Canada with 10 or more trucks, regardless of TCA membership status. “Best Fleets is good for everybody – the carriers, the staff, the drivers – and it’s even good for the image of trucking – to show off the best of what our industry can offer,” said Deborah Sparks, TCA vice president of development. After a company is nominated and agrees to participate, the survey will dig deeper into its policies and practices, bringing to light the things it does that are innovative and successful. The companies will also answer questions about their current employment practices, both electronically and through phone interviews with senior management and a random sampling of drivers. The top 20 finishers will be identified as the Best Fleets to Drive For and will be announced in January 2015. From the top 20, companies will be split into small and large categories and two overall winners will be selected. The TCA and CarriersEdge will recognize the overall winners at TCA’s annual convention, March 8-11 at the Gaylord Palms in Kissimmee, Fla.
