I am no expert on Electronic Logging Devices (ELD’s) but I have been in the transportation industry long enough to know that there are way to many cheaters with log books and this is simply not good for business and not good for road safety.  It also effects the relationship between carriers and shippers. Making ELD’s mandatory in Canada and the United States will fundamentally change the shipper/carrier relationship for all the right reasons. Every minute will be accounted for by our professional drivers and shippers.  Receivers have an obligation to ensure our drivers are driving and not waiting. It’s all about keeping costs under control and more importantly insuring the roads in North America are as safe as possible. Pushing companies and drivers will no longer be an option.

This mandate will be a major game changer. Lets look past the industry for a minute and think about our families, anything we can do to assist our professionals drivers in getting home safe to their family and loved ones is important.

ELD regulation is good, no I think it is great.
