The Young Leaders Group (YLG) of the Private Motor Truck Council of Canada (PMTC) is providing an educational seminar and you don’t want to miss it!
The seminar will be held in Guelph, ON. from 8 am until 11:45 am on Wednesday, February 7, 2018 and will include:
A career story by John Harrison, Director of Transportation Operations for CPC Logistics Canada Ltd. and Chairman of the PMTC
In this session, moderated by the YLG’s Kimberly Biback, John Harrison will share the story of how his career path has taken him from the financial services industry into the world of transportation. John started as a driver over 20 years ago and advanced from there to the prominent positions he holds today as the Director of Transportation Operations for CPC Logistics Canada Ltd. and the Chairman of the PMTC. John will discuss the various positions he has held and share some of the experience and insight he’s gained along the way.
‘Go For It: Passion & Positivity Will Get You There’ a presentation by Kathy Cartan, President and Creative Director of Motive Media
Kathy’s career has spanned over 30 years in the Transportation and Graphics Industry from her humble beginnings painting storefront signs and murals at Canada’s Wonderland to founding the award-winning design and large scale digital graphic production company Motive Media. Kathy is a Director on the board of the Toronto Transportation Club and has created the Ladies Lunch and Learn Event promoting Women in Transportation with all funds raised going to support the Toronto Transportation Club’s scholarship fund. Kathy will talk about passion and positivity, and how important they are to build a successful and fulfilling career.
‘Get To Know Yourself. It’s Nice To Know You’ a presentation by Erin Mares, Co-Founder of BeBranded
Erin Mares is the Co-Founder of BeBranded, a branding and marketing firm in Guelph, On. Erin has been a graphic designer for over 15 years and has experience in website design, print media, social media and branding. In this session, Erin will discuss the importance of personal branding. Whether it’s brand strategy for a corporation or an individual, having a clear understanding of “who you are” is where you need to start and it can help you create loyalty and trust in your customers.
A discussion about leadership with Jeremy Enns, Director of Business Development for Eagle’s Flight
Eagle’s Flight is known as a global leader in education for their approach to delivering training programs that are business-relevant and invoke lasting behavioral change. Eagle’s Flight are also the facilitators of the PMTC’s Driven to Lead program that will commence in the fall of 2018. Jeremy has been part of the Eagle’s Flight team since 2013. He will spend some time talking about the importance of effective leadership and what it looks like.
