“We are very excited to offer this opportunity to an individual graduating from one of the high schools in Haldimand County,” says Matt Richardson, Sales and Operations Manager at KRTS. “KRTS is very involved with trying to get the younger generation involved in the trucking industry as it is a great opportunity for a long term sustainable career. By providing the scholarship winner with a program that is recognized industry wide, we are giving them a great starting block for the rest of their time in the industry.”
Upon completion of all aspects of the program at KRTS, Contrans Flatbed Group out of Hagersville, has made a commitment to hire the individual should they continue to meet all required criteria. Although the individual will not be able to complete any cross-border transportation until the age of 21, they have several placement opportunities that will allow the scholarship winner to learn the industry from the ground up.
“We are proud to partner with KRTS on this scholarship initiative,” Kara Kett, Recruiting and Retention at Contrans stated. “This is a fantastic opportunity for a member of our community to develop themselves and kick start their career in this dynamic industry. We strongly believe in the education and practical experience the recipient will gain through KRTS and are excited to welcome another member to our team.”
