Every year I am fortunate to have the opportunity to put together a small event for ISB Global Services called the Biz and Breakfast. I was an attendee of this event before I joined ISB back in February of 2017, and now I help to organize the event.

Our goal is to find new and interesting topics for our customers, industry friends, associations, and sponsors to help educate them on what’s new in commercial transportation. We generally have about 80 – 100 participants, which seems to grow larger every year.

While the Biz and Breakfast is intended to be an educational event, it also provides an opportunity for our industry friends to network and connect. The open invitation includes representation from carriers, truck training schools, transportation media, consultants, insurance, and industry associations.

Once again, Kim Richardson has agreed to serve as our Master of Ceremonies. This year’s agenda includes:

  • A panel featuring three well-known transportation legal professionals who will share their knowledge on some of the industry’s hottest topics. Our panel includes Kim Stoll (Fernandes Hearn LLP), Heather Devine (Alexander Holburn Beaudin + Lang), and Jodi Burness (Burness Paralegal Services).
  • Tim Charles, the Health and Safety Training Manager for Roofmart, has agreed to share his success story called Correcting our CVOR. Tim has taken some fascinating measures over the last few years to help Roofmart drastically reduce their CVOR and will be sharing his story with our group.
  • Andrea Morley will once again provide our group with an Update from Healthy Trucker. Andrea is well-known in the transportation industry and is the Lead Nutritionist & Health Coach with Healthy Trucker, working with fleets across Ontario.
  • Closing our morning will be Todd Moore, Vice-President of the ISB Cargo Theft Division. With his experience of over 30 years with the Peel Regional Police, Todd brings a wealth of knowledge and stories as he plans on discussing Cargo Loss Prevention and Supply Chain Security Solutions.

The Biz and Breakfast will take place on Wednesday, November 13th, at the Sandman Signature Mississauga Hotel, located at 5400 Dixie Rd., in Mississauga.

I am so happy to be able to bring this remarkable group of industry professionals together to share their knowledge.

If you are available, we’d love to have you join us for this free event. To register, click on the link below.
