The Wellington Group of Companies and the PMTC Young Leaders Group opened this years Driven to Lead Program by announcing the bursary winner for this year’s program.
Tori Wood, Team Leader and Account Executive for Staebler Insurance, was the recipient of the first ever Driven to Lead Bursary award, sponsored by the Wellington Group of Companies.
The bursary and a certificate were presented to Tori by Michael Zelek, Director of Human resources for Wellington Group. The bursary provided $500.00 in funding to be credited towards the cost of the Driven to Lead Program Registration.

To be eligible for the funding, applicants had to be 40 years of age or under and registered for the Driven to Lead Program.
The ‘Driven to Lead’ program is an experiential, practical leadership program that take’s participants through hands-on and impactful exercises focusing on topics like culture, teamwork, accountability and strategy. It is intended for both up-and-coming and current leaders who are looking to advance and develop their personal and professional skills. This is the 2nd year the PMTC YLG has offered this program.
Information on the winner: Tori started in the Insurance Industry with Stabler at 19, currently with 10 years of experience. Tori has been a team leader for the last 4, leading a small group of 4 people, with responsibilities of training and coaching her team and reporting directly to her department. Tori just completed her CAIB designation and has no plans to stop her education there. Tori believes these modules will help her advance her skills as a leader and help grow strength within her team. Tori states she is looking forward to all the modules, but particularly the “Communicating for Impact” module. Tori believes communication is one of her biggest challenges, and says she is excited to get some hands on experience to help her better herself and her team in this regard.
