The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada, after much consideration, has decided in order to protect the Health and Safety of the public, that the 2021 AGM and Conference will not be able to proceed as an in-person event in June of this year. Instead, the board of directors voted unanimously to proceed with a fully virtual 3 day event from June 16th to the 18th, with plans to return with a full in person event in June of 2022. “In these trying times, and with the continued development of COVID-19, it became obvious to our Board that we could not in good conscience move forward with an in person event. The Health and safety of our staff, speakers, friends, industry colleagues and guests who attend our events year after year, must always be top of mind. While governments around the country are beginning vaccinations and we are beginning to see a light at the end of what has been a long tunnel, large indoor gatherings are still not recommended in order to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, and when we look at Canada’s hope to have 50% of the population vaccinated by the end of June, the board felt the likelihood of any large gathering being allowed, or even recommended before then are very remote. While in person is not feasible, we do still want to provide the high calibre of education and recognition that our conference has become well known for. As a result, we will be going with a fully virtual event again this year, which we are confident will provide you with the education value you are used to from PMTC events.
For our virtual event we have once again partnered with C-Vent, one of the worlds leading virtual conference partners, and who worked with PMTC to ensure we delivered a high-quality event back in September of 2020.
Since that time, C-Vent has made improvements to their platform, which will make the user experience an even higher quality, and more streamlined than last year, and PMTC and C-Vent will work together to build off our experience from last year and make improvements to enhance the viewers and sponsors experience and value for this year’s virtual event.
The conference will kick off each day at 10am eastern time and end by no later than 3pm each day. There will be 10 educational seminars as well as the PMTC awards programs. As in person presentations of awards are not possible, we will be using video tributes once again that will be played for all announced winners so we can recognize their achievements as best as possible and provide the recognition that is so richly deserved.
A schedule of topics and events is listed below, and the full brochure with details and registration will be up on the PMTC website shortly, as we work on finalizing all details with our event partner. (Conference agenda and schedule subject to change with out notice)
