“When I say, SunShifter ™️, you say, Westhill!” I wouldn’t expect you to say that but hopefully you will one day. Remember that old word game where you say a word and then someone else says another word, and so on, and so on? We want our name and products to be synonymous with each other in the minds of our customers, but right now you may be wondering who I even am?
My name is Gina Succi, PEng. the Chief Executive Officer of Westhill Innovation Inc. and I am happy to be starting my first series of articles based on solutions for the transportation industry. Westhill began working on solutions to help the environment and the first product we developed was the “SunShifter ™️” which is a solar electromobility solution for commercial freight transportation. Our solution involves specially designed solar panels, a powerpack and software that provides energy to operate the refrigeration unit or eventually help power trucks in the future!
We are excited about SunShifter ™️ as it is a game changer for the industry at a time when carriers are looking for other solutions for their fleet outside of diesel fuel. The benefits of SunShifter ™️ are many starting with the seamless installation on the trailer. Our unique panels are covered in a protective coating protecting them from the elements.
The SunShifter™️ is an off-grid solution that keeps the refrigeration running as long as it is parked outside. The SunShifter™️ requires natural sun and even gathers power in cloudy conditions. It will keep loads at temperature whether deep freeze or heated, so products arrive at their destination as intended.
SunShifter™️ is capable of producing 7kW of power making it the largest mobile power solution to the trucking industry and can power even the largest applications requiring consistent power.
The big benefits to everyone both within and outside of the transportation industry is the environment. We all need to do our part to reduce Greenhouse Gases and diesel emissions are a big part of the problem. Multiply that by the amount of equipment on the road and you can see that there will be no “one solution” to the problem. By doing your part you will be part of the solution instead of part of the problem.With fuel prices as they are, our kit can help you save over $20,000 per year in operating costs.
