The TTSAO Conference Is Back!
See you in 2022! That’s the tagline for the 6th Annual TTSAO Conference. The last time the TTSAO hosted an in-person conference was February 2020, less than one month before everything changed because of the global pandemic and we were all pushed into a world of virtual events.
For years I have attended and participated in the planning of industry events. These events are designed to educate but they are also great places to network and discuss industry issues with like-minded individuals. Some of the events I have been involved in include conferences for the Fleet Safety Council, The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada, Trucking Human Resources Sector Council Atlantic, The Women’s Trucking Federation of Canada, The National Recruiting and Retention Symposium and more.
The TTSAO Conference Committee started planning the 6th Annual Conference during the pandemic with the hopes that we would be back to in-person events by February 2021. Unfortunately, this was not the case. A decision was made to host smaller, no-cost, virtual events and when the time was right to come back bigger and stronger. Well that time is now. During the last few months we have seen the return to in-person conferences and it’s awesome! Being able to once again see industry friends, watch live presentations, visit sponsor booths and network is a great feeling.
The TTSAO Conference is traditionally held in February however, Provincial restrictions limited our ability to host the event at that time. The committee decided to push the conference to July, a first for the TTSAO but I can assure you it will be worth the wait.
The TTSAO Conference is unique in that it’s not just targeted towards the truck training schools. The TTSAO Conference has information that is relevant to Carriers, Insurance, Health and Safety Professionals, Consultants and just about anyone involved in the transportation industry. The Conference Committee has put together a stellar agenda once again this year including presentations from Glenn Cladwell (NAL Insurance and Thank a Trucker), Mark Seymour (Kriska Transportation), Bruce Outridge (Bruce Outridge Productions), Mike McCarron (Rite Route Supply Chain Solutions) and myself representing the Infrastructure Health and Safety Association.
In addition to these great stand-alone presentations the 2-day event includes the TTSAO Annual General Meeting, a Carrier Group Meeting, an Insurance Group Meeting, an update from Serco, a panel update on the On-Site School Testing Pilot Program, updates from the Ministry of Colleges and Universities and the Ministry of Transportation and more.
Throughout the 2-days many of our sponsors will have booths set-up so that they can meet with existing and potential customers. We say this a lot when planning events but it’s through the support of great companies that we are able to put on a show like this.
I am happy to once again be a member of this committee and truly honored to have been selected to speak about the results from the IHSA Yard Safety Root Cause Workshop. The information included in my presentation is relevant to all of the delegates and I am happy to be in a position where I can share the results. I am looking forward to meeting face-to-face once again with some of the best in the industry.
If you have not registered for this conference yet, I would encourage you to visit https://ttsao.com/ttsao-conference/ to do so. After 2 years of planning “see you in 2022” has finally arrived and it’s going to be a great conference.
