The Truck Training Schools Association of Ontario (TTSAO)’s 6th Annual Conference takes place on July 26-27 and is hosting a line-up of seminars, including Getting Students Hired by Best in Class Fleets – a Fireside Chat with Mark Seymour, CEO of Kriska Group, and Kim Richardson, President of TTSAO – proudly sponsored by Tenstreet.

In today’s market of labour and supply chain demands, schools and fleets both play a key role in educating and shaping our future drivers to be respectful of the rules and mindful of other drivers and those who work on and off the roads.
Mark Seymour explains that proper education and training at school and work are equally important in order to create and maintain a successful fleet of professional drivers. “It’s important to understand the role that schools play in our industry. When companies, such as Kriska Holdings Ltd., hire entry-level drivers, it’s important that the school system graduates the best possible candidates whom we can groom into professional drivers that will have a long-term career.”

The TTSAO is also pleased to announce updates to two panel discussions, Using Technology to Expediate Your Recruiting and Retention Process and On-Site School Testing Pilot Panel. Using Technology to Expediate Your Recruiting and Retention Process will be a discussion led by Marilyn Surber, Commercial Driver Solutions Manager with Tenstreet, and Samantha Clarke, Commercial Driver Solutions Manager with KnowledgeSurge. George Cierpich, Owner of Metro Driving School, will be moderating On-Site School Testing Pilot Panel.

Gerald Carroll, Chairman of the TTSAO Conference Committee, is pleased with this year’s offerings and how the lineup of seminars, awards and fireside chats celebrate the industry today and the direction it’s headed in tomorrow. “This year’s TTSAO Conference is definitely one for the ages,” says Gerald. “After putting everything on hold, due to the pandemic, it’s an honour to see everyone come together again and celebrate who we are in the industry and all that we represent with the TTSAO. I am truly grateful to each and every one of you for your time and support, and look forward to seeing you all next week!”
