To help celebrate National Trucking Week, Ontario’s Transportation Minister Caroline Mulroney today visited the Milton offices of One for Freight – the home of Ontario Trucking Association (OTA) Chairperson David Carruth.
“On behalf of the OTA and all the hard-working men and women in this industry, I would like to thank the Minister for taking time out of her busy schedule to recognize the importance of our sector,” said OTA Chair Carruth. “The Minister is working with OTA to help make our industry more competitive by trying to reduce red tape. This government is clearly committed to keeping Ontario open for business.”
Following a tour of the One For Freight facilities, Minister Mulroney met with OTA officers Wendell Erb, CEO/President, The Erb Group of Companies and Mark Bylsma, President, Spring Creek Carriers. Also, in attendance was Parm Gill, MPP (Milton) and past OTA Chair and current Canadian Trucking Alliance Chair, Scott Smith, along with OTA President Stephen Laskowski and OTA staff.
“As the new minister of transportation it was a great opportunity for me to hear about the industry and find opportunities to reduce red tape,” said Mulroney.
