The Niagara Falls Bridge Commission is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Geoffrey Topping, P.Log, CDS to the Board of Commissioners, effective immediately. Mr. Topping was appointed to Niagara Falls Bridge Commission by the Premier of the Province of Ontario, Doug Ford.

A resident of Guelph, Ontario, Commissioner Topping is currently the Vice President, Human Resources at Challenger Motor Freight Inc. and has over 30 years of progressive Operations and Human Resources experience. Currently responsible for all aspects of Driver Recruiting, Risk, Safety & Compliance, Human Resources and Payroll functions, he is a key member of the Challenger Executive Team. His extensive experience includes the areas of strategic planning, employee development, operations management and driver retention.

Commissioner Topping began his professional career in transportation as both a long-haul driver and Independent Owner/Operator. After 10 years of being a driving partner, he came off of the road and moved into the office environment where he has since held a variety of leadership positions including National Account Director, Vice President of Sales, General Manager of the Temperature Controlled & Waste Division, Director of Driver Recruiting & Retention and Senior Director of Human Resources.

As an active member of his community, Commissioner Topping is currently the Chairman of the Recruiting, Retention and Human Resources Committee of the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA), a Board Member of Services and Housing in the Province (SHIP) as well as a past Board Member and Carrier Committee Chairman for the Truck Training Schools Association of Ontario (TTSAO). In 2018, Commissioner Topping was awarded Top Fleet Employers’ Senior HR Leader Award by Trucking Human Resources Canada.

The present Board of Commissioners include Chairperson Mike Goodale (ON), Vice Chairperson Kathleen Neville (NY), Treasurer Chuck McShane (ON), Secretary Dick Palladino (NY), Bart Maves (ON), and Frank Soda (NY).
