The Private Motor Truck Council of Canada, after much consideration, has decided that the 2020 AGM and Conference will not be able to proceed on June 10th to the 12th, and instead will be rescheduled for September 8th to the 10th. “In these trying times, and with the continued development of COVID-19, it became obvious to our Board that we needed to make this decision now. Governments around the country are putting stricter measures in place daily to prevent the spread of COVID-19, and we could not in good conscious consider the original dates as feasible any longer. On April 7th our board of directors voted unanimously to make the change to the fall” stated PMTC President Mike Millian “ Our number one concern at this time is to do our part to contain the spread, and protect the health and safety of our members, speakers and our community. We are confident, that with the actions our governments are taking, and if we as citizens all do our part to follow them, we will be well on our way to recovery by the fall.  With the resilience of this industry, and the country of Canada, we believe we will be on our way to becoming stronger than ever, and our new fall conference dates will help to become part of the celebration of recovery”

The Conference will still be held in Niagara Falls, with a change in Hotel Venue required, as we will now be going to the Marriott on the Falls.  Registration is still open on the PMTC website, and there are a few sponsorships that still remain. A new link for the conference hotel registration will be up shortly on our website. For the rest of the details, please see below.

The conference will kick off the afternoon of September 8th with the Annual General Meeting for the membership from 4 to 5:50pm. The AGM is for PMTC Members and invited guests only. In addition to the usual business portion that needs to be conducted, this year it will also feature an entertaining and enlightening presentation on “The Future of Fuel and Energy Predictions”, by the Portland Fuel Company.

On September 8th, from 6-8:00pm, Zavcor Training Academy will host the PMTC Young Leaders Group Pre-Conference Cocktail Reception for conference sponsors, speakers, the PMTC Board of Directors, all registered conference attendee’s and all PMTC Young Leaders Group members. Last year the pre-conference reception was attended by over 200 people.  The reception will be held in the Sponsors Exhibitors’ Showcase area to provide more value to our conference partners and those who attend the pre-conference cocktail reception.

On September 9th, starting at 8 am, the educational portion of the conference will begin and continue into the 10th.  Mixed in with this will be the PMTC awards program as well as several networking opportunities.

A schedule of topics and events is listed below, and the full brochure with details and registration is up on the PMTC website at www.pmtc.ca. (Conference agenda and schedule subject to change with out notice)

This year’s conference will take place at the Marriott on the Falls, in Niagara Falls, ON.
