The Professional Truck Training Alliance of Canada (PTTAC) is pleased to announce its commitment to the transportation industry. Founded by Chairman Jim Campbell, President and GM of First Class Training Centre Inc. in Winnipeg, MB, the PTTAC is the unified voice of commercial truck training in Canada with a mandate to standardize and support programs offered in each province and territory. The PTTAC’s objectives are to: • make commercial truck driving a recognized Red Seal trade in Canada; • create nationally approved truck training instructor programs; • remove barriers and bring accessibility to funding and tuition for truck training programs; and • ensure truck training schools are standardized and compliant, provincially and nationally. The PTTAC movement began in early 2022, when a group of like-minded stakeholders connected over a shared vision to see truck driver training be accessible, consistent, and a valued profession across Canada. From that day onward, Campbell and his fellow founders were united in their vision and commitment to make a difference in the industry. Two years later, PTTAC Chairman Jim Campbell is equally humbled by and honoured to make this shared vision a reality in the transportation industry, stating: “As we build this Alliance, our goal is to become the unified voice of Commercial truck training in Canada: the trusted group who makes a difference to the industry, road safety, and education. Working with like-minded stakeholders is the direction we are headed in and we encourage all schools to join our movement.” The PTTAC is the only national group in Canada that represents commercial truck driver training businesses and will drive progress in education, training, and road safety through expertise and influence. The Alliance’s kick-off campaign will include a tour of Western Canada, where Campbell and other founding members will meet with provincial and federal representatives to discuss their mandate and objectives in further detail.
