“They say in every crisis there is an opportunity and if nothing else, let’s hope that the events of 2020 have compelled carriers and their customers to be more progressive and work in tandem to improve freight efficiency and productivity by respecting truck drivers as professionals, the critical service they provide and the time they are given to do their job,” he said.

National Trucking Week was started by the Canadian Trucking Alliance (CTA) in the late 1990s as a way to embrace by the industry and spotlight the contributions of the hundreds of thousands of men and women of the Canadian trucking industry who keep the country’s freight moving, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

During NTW, various events will be occurring across the country in which the trucking community comes together to celebrate the industry; recognize those who are the backbone of Canada’s economy and to promote the industry’s dedication to safety and environmental enhancement.

There will be barbecues, picnics, truck show ‘n shines and all kinds of other things happening at company facilities throughout the province and country.
