Without a doubt the annual TTSAO Conference has become an industry event not to be missed. This will be the associations 7th conference and it has grown. Mark your calendar, February 23/24th in Brampton.

The first conference was hosted in a meeting room, safe to say there was 60ish people in attendance with a few sponsors. Now in 2022 the conference will be held at Lionhead Golf and Conference Center, a first class venue that allows the TTSAO to expand the conference to a couple hundred delegates and sponsors with lots of room for booths for those wishing to get their services/products in front of the decision makers of the industry.

The TTSAO Conference Committee has built the conference on four pillars:

  1. Education
  2. Networking
  3. Affordable for all
  4. A great venue

If I was to add a fifth it would be this conference is for all, Schools, carriers, insurance, government, other associations and industry stakeholders.

Now a full two day event the emphasis is on inclusion with every delegate, sponsor, speaker, panelist, moderator and media invited to the entire event.

This years theme “We’ll see you in 22” promises to be the best conference yet. The networking and trade show opens at 10:30 and is followed but the Annual General Meeting (AGM)and everyone is invite to participate. A special presentation by Glenn Caldwell featuring Thank a Trucker should be the highlight of the AGM so don’t miss. Without the driver we have no industry, this is such a great program NAL has put together.

After a great lunch from the chef of Lionhead count on a full afternoon as the TTSAO Insurance Group and Carrier Group host their meetings that will provide education and information that will better you and your business. Serco will be on hand to provide an update and present on all things related to Commercial testing in the Province of Ontario. The statistics and stats shared will enlighten the audience and outline what has been worked on and will be worked on in the future with industry and government. Following the Serco session a panel of school leaders will discuss the benefits of on site school testing from a recent pilot and why the government should continue to offer this service.

Following the panel the always popular cocktail party sponsored by Revolution Staffing is held and gives everyone an opportunity to mingle and network amongst the trade show in a casual atmosphere while participating in the kick off to the silent auction where there will be plenty of great prizes to be won.

Day two will focus on the education side of the conference with a presentation on Social Media by two industry experts, Bruce Outridge and Chris Harris. Learn what to do and most importantly what NOT to do when involving yourself and your company on social in the transportation industry. Then representatives from government will sit down, the Ministry of Colleges and Universities (MCU) and the Ministry of Transportation (MTO) for a casual conversation with the audience followed by time spent networking and visiting the trade show.

Once the program resumes it is all about non traditional transportation companies and a best practices hiring panel – this will be a do not miss for anyone hiring drivers. Just before another great lunch served up by the chef at Lionhead there will be a sit down with two proven industry industry leaders as the “Make Cent$ of Our Industry”. Mark Seymour, President of Kriska and Mike McCarron, President of Rite Route Supply Chain Solutions will bring tons of expertise and knowledge to the delegates to help better business and the people in it.

Following lunch and more networking the prestigious Instructor of the Year and other awards will be presented and then we will hear from Truckers Against Trafficking and all the great things they are doing in North America to fight human trafficking. After another networking and trade show opportunity the day will conclude with its session which will be announced closer to the conference.

As I have outlined we have a great agenda for this years conference, one you will not want to miss.
