The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) is the only trade association whose collective sole focus is the truckload segment of the motor carrier industry. Founded in 1938, the association represents dry van, refrigerated, flatbed, tanker, and intermodal container carriers. TCA is an organization tailored to specific truckload carrier needs.

While our everyday lives have been thrown into chaos by the COVID-19 pandemic, the Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has worked hard to maintain meaningful educational opportunities for members and the wider trucking community. Now more than ever, trucking professionals need to feel connected to one another, and we are ensuring that these critical conversations can still take place.

This year’s TCA Safety & Security Meeting, which was originally scheduled to be an in-person event in Louisville, Kentucky, has transitioned to a virtual platform. Not only will this new format enable attendees to gain important information during a rapidly changing time, but it will also allow more people than ever before to participate thanks to our presenting sponsor, ACT1, providing complimentary registration to all audiences.

We are grateful to be able to continue hosting the highly anticipated Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Fireside Chat, moderated by SiriusXM Road Dog Trucking radio host, Dave Nemo. The Chat will feature a discussion between myself and FMCSA Acting Administrator Jim Mullen and will undoubtedly highlight the new U.S. hours-of-service regulations, the Agency’s Crash Preventability Determination Program, and the actions taken by FMCSA to help motor carriers in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The virtual meeting will also give attendees the opportunity to take part in virtual Safety in the Round discussions. These popular sessions allow attendees to talk with peers in small group settings regarding the topics they’ve explored throughout the program, as well as current safety concerns and issues affecting their companies. While it is impossible to replace the in-person conversations that typically take place during these sessions, we believe the virtual platform will enable attendees to engage in significant ways that we could never have anticipated just a few months ago.

Please plan to join us for the TCA’s Virtual Safety & Security Meeting on June 23-25. I know you will gain valuable insights from the timely sessions and will make meaningful connections with others in the industry during this time when we need them most.
