Recently a trusted industry friend asked me to meet with a Toronto based carrier who has been been approved to start a truck driving school by the Province. He had heard that we are partners in the school business with Zavcor Training Academy and Challenger Transportation Training Academy and wanted to know if we could help them now that they had been scammed.
They hired a “consultant” to get their school approved through MCU, $30,000k later they have an approved school and don’t know the first thing about running a school or teaching entry level Commercial Drivers, but they can do it legally. There are nearly 200 registered campuses now in Ontario where you can get a class AZ licence. I wonder how many of them hired a scam consultant to get registered.
This trusting business person was sold a set of goods and thought he was doing the right thing. These consultants need to be put out of business, they have zero concern for road safety or the transportation industry. Their only interest is filling their pockets. This particular consultant told the gentleman they helped 50 schools in the past year get different programs approved by the government. At 30k a pop they made 1.5 million scamming their clients.
